Charlene (Ying-Ling) Keir
Charlene is the founder of Keir lethemba Foundation. She has for long had the passion to elevate the level of education and bring solace to those less fortunate in underprivileged population groups.
Charlene has a strong business background and has held senior management positions in multinational and local companies culminating in her establishing her own trading company in 2003.
She is an active member and volunteer with Tzu Chi Foundation South Africa, Executive member of Down Syndrome, Amatola, and Administrator of Women in Business where she facilitates community project for poverty eradication.
Charlene holds the following qualifications:
• 2010: N4-N6 in Educare (National and International Qualification Level NQF5 –NQF6)
• 2011: Honours degree in Social Science – Development Studies (National and International
Qualification Level NQF8)
• 2013: Master of Education – Early Childhood Development (National and International
Qualification Level NQF9
Skills Training Manager
Paul started his career in 1968 and has extensive knowledge in the fields of Customs Clearing and Forwarding, International Transport, Integrated Logistics and supply chain management.
Starting in a junior position in the early part of his career he advanced into senior management and later had the responsibility of running local branch offices for worldwide international Logistics companies as General Manager.
In 1994 he established his own company that soon developed into a well-respected and lucrative company and was approached by a large German organization in 1999 to acquire a shareholding in the business. With the acquisition Paul continued as Managing Director with the company and subsequently sold the balance of his shares in 2003. He stayed on with them up until 2015 when he finally retired.
Paul enjoys woodwork as a past time, especially making furniture and cupboards. He intends passing these skills across in a separate training program for the Foundation.
Ikechukwu Umejesi (Ike)
Ike holds a PhD in environmental sociology and other degrees in history, industrial sociology and human resource management.
He lectures sociology at the University of Fort Hare, East London campus, South Africa. Ike has published academic papers on post-colonial states in Africa, state-community contestation in natural resource ownership in Africa, environmental risk/vulnerability and gender issues in Africa. He is passionate about researching socio-economic inequalities in South Africa.
Ike is an alumnus of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria.
Ehren matriculated at St. Andrews College in Bloemfontein and has completed a two year course at the University of the Free State (UFS), where he majored in psychology and sociology.
He is currently doing his National N Diploma: Popular Music Studio Work and National Certificate: Video & Television Production with PAS Creative Media Production College.
Ehren has many talents which include basic skills in computer programing, the ability to read and play Classical and contemporary piano and is able to speak both Chinese and Taiwanese languages.
Career Guidance Practitioner
Nceba is a dynamic professional with extensive experience in his field of expertise.
He has held the position of Development Facilitator, World Vision of South Africa, Supplemental Instruction Leader with University of Fort Hare/Teaching & Learning Centre – (S.I. Prog Bus. Management 1st year), Supervising Enumerator for Talent Net Consulting in Partnership with the Dept. of Social Development, Training Facilitator at TMK Consulting Agency and Career Guidance Practitioner with Buffalo City TVET College.
Nceba has an equally impressive list of educational achievements. He Matriculated in 1994 and through further studies holds the following qualifications.

- Post Graduate Certificate in Education, UNISA majoring in Business Studies & Social Sciences,
- Bachelor of Social Sciences, Fort Hare University, Majoring in Psychology, Sociology & Business Studies,

Thembela Albert Wellem
Job creation project co-ordinator
Since matriculating in 1982 Albert spent 14 years serving as Platoon Sergeant for 44 Parachute Brigade / 1 Parachute Battalion in the South African National Defence Force.
Between the period 2002 and 2014 he held employment in the fields of Staff Recruitment and Security services.
He has since been reinstated into Reserve Special Forces with the South African National Defence Force where he spends 3 months of each year on special training and lectures.
Albert enjoys reading, physical training and is a keen gardener.
Child and Youth Care project co-ordinator
Agnes is the Principal of River of Life Day Care Centre in Buffalo Flats on the East Bank of the Buffalo River, East London.
Her house in Buffalo Flats serves as a Foster Home for 30 orphans and abandoned children and she is actively involved in a number of other community services.
The River of Life Day Care Centre presently caters for 85 Children where they receive preschool tutoring and training activities to develop and enhance Motor Skills.
Early Childhood Development project co-ordinator
Ntombi Mgunqgu holds an ECD level 4 qualification and is Principal of Khulisani Day Care Centre in the area of Reeston , East London.
She has held this position since 2008 and caters for 40 children in ECD and training activities for coordination and development of Motor Skills.
Ntombi is well respected in the community and is extremely dedicated to her cause.
